DART – Blue Line Extension SOC3
(Dallas, Texas)
Client: Dallas Area Rapid Transit Authority
Project Size: 71 miles
Project Value: $800M (overall)
Project Duration: 2013-2016
Project Description:
The first corridor, the Orange Line, a new alignment connecting DART’s opened Green line with the City of Irving and DFW International Airport, is segmented into three distinct line segments, the first two are open for revenue service and the third segment into DFW Airport was place into revenue service in early 2014.
Bradlink’s key staff served in two roles. The first role involved construction inspection, reporting, and developing as-built drawings for all ticket vending machines and supporting infrastructure (civil, electrical, fiber, ADA, etc.) to make sure in compliance. Bradlink provided daily reports to and worked closely with AFC Contractor to make any necessary corrections.
The second corridor of DART’s expansion program involved a 5.2-mile extension of DART’s Blue line from downtown Garland to Rowlett, Texas. Key Bradlink staff (Raymond Hardemon) provided construction management for 2 new rail stations and 1 rail station expansion. Provided daily reporting, oversaw construction activities for compliance, interacted with multiple subs and Owner’s Rep and responded to RFI’s.
The two corridors combined for an approximate $800M investment in the area and will expand DART’s rail service to a total of 71 miles.
